YOUTH FOOTBALL:

WELFORD Juniors edged out Pershore Town 5-3 in an entertaining Under-18s Cup tie at the King George 5th Stadium in the Ambassador Evesham League.

Eden Sadler-Baker (2), Thomas Walsh (2) and Thomas Bromley fired the visitors into the next round., with an own goal, Harry Dunn and Andew Ward replying for Pershore.

Robert Singer fired home four goals to give Welford Juniors a 5-4 win against previously unbeaten Badsey Rangers in the Under-15s Cup, with Oliver Burdett also on target.




Jack Read hit a hat-trick to steer Bidford Juniors to a 6-1 win at Ilmington to reach the second round while Meadow Park just edged in 2-1 over Welland Junior FC Lions, Joe Green and Matt Edward on the scoresheet for Park.

The Lenches and Alcester Town Juniors also produced a cup cracker in the Under-16s Cup, with Connor Wagstaff firing home a penalty winner for Lenches for a handball offence with seven minutes left.


Leo Fleming hit a goal in each half for Lenches but each time the visitors hit back to tie the score.

In the Under-14s Cup, Oscar Hair (2) and substitute Harry Langford were on target in Shipston Excelsior’s surprise 3-1 win at Pool A side Lenches FC, while another Pool B side Welford Pumas overcame Pool A Lenches FC on penalties.

Welford Juniors progressed 2-1 in their Under-13s Cup clash at Meadow Park, with Fred Bailey and Jack Boazman the scorers.
