STRATFORD’S five-match winning run was halted after opponents Hereford scored three second-half tries to complete a comeback success.
The Black and Whites had led 12-0 at one point in wet and windy conditions on Saturday but Hereford rallied to record a 29-12 victory.
Stratford utilised a clever 60-yard kick for second-rower Zak Amend to touch down and left wing George Rowe added a second score with a swift incursion through the defence after Stratford picked up a dropped pass to run through a couple of tackles. Gwilym Davis landed the conversion.
But Hereford continued to create opportunities and were level at half-time after Jack Goodwin and Leon Parsons scored tries.
Two minutes into the second period, Cal Duncan went over the line to out the hosts ahead and followed up with two quickfire tries to seal the points. Mark Philo grabbed a loose ball to go over and Duncan then added his second try of the afternoon.
