DESPITE a number of injuries and last-minute withdrawals, a small group of Stratford-upon-Avon Boat Club’s participation squad won medals at King’s School Worcester’s annual indoor rowing competition.
Stratford’s Ellis Bishop won bronze in the Year 11 boys’ race and also took mixed relay bronze alongside Amelia Welton, Hannah Shivlock and Shane McMahon despite three of the rowers being in Year 10.
The club’s athletes set a number of personal best (PB) times with Shane McMahon coming off his sick bed to compete in three races.
Stratford’s participation group coach, Ralph Johnson, said: “The team were understandably very pleased with their day’s work and look forward to more events.”
