LOCAL businesses Tudor Physiotherapy and Nashwhite are the new sponsors of the King Edward VI School (KES) netball squad and their upcoming tour.
This is a great step forward for the Stratford school as netball continues to develop in talent and numbers, with three teams now playing competition netball in the locality.
KES director of sport Toby Wilson said: “We are delighted these two businesses are supporting our netball tour. Although I am relatively new to the school, I can see the passion and determination of the girls and coaches and know netball will continue to go from strength to strength.”
This is the first time KES has invited local businesses to sponsor netball and both are a perfect fit. Tudor Physio’s director Andrew Holbrook (also lead physio for Wasps Netball) has been involved with the school for many years and has recently developed a pre-hab training programme to help the girls understand how to prevent injury.
He commented: “Specialising in sports injuries and rehabilitation, we are keen to support female sport. When this opportunity came along we were delighted to become the primary sponsor for KES netball.”
Hair and lifestyle brand Nashwhite is relatively new to Stratford, but its salon on Sheep Street is already drawing custom from the KES girls and staff.
Salon manager Lauren Thomas said: “We feel the Nashwhite brand is a good fit with the young and energetic netball girls at KES. It’s great to be supporting the local community and we were so pleased to be asked to get involved.”
The KES netballers are set to jet off to Spain and Gibraltar to experience touring abroad. They will be playing against overseas teams, providing an opportunity to continue to develop their netballing skills.
Wilson added: “Our thanks go to Tudor Physiotherapy and Nashwhite for sponsoring the tour kit. This is the third international netball tour KES have offered since the girls started studying at the school in 2013.”
