STRATFORD Athletic Club star Lewis Byng finished fourth in the men’s shot put at the Muller British Athletics Championships at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium.
The 17-year-old, whose best throw was 16.71m, can take great heart from his efforts among the 12-strong field.
In July Byng, the UK U20 and U23 champion, finished eighth in the final of the European U20 Championships in Sweden with a best of 18.70m.
Stratford AC’s Andrew Pozzi did not compete in the 110m hurdles due to injury but is hopeful of being available for the World Championships which begin in Doha, Qatar, in late September.
