Bourne search for good club cricketers

Stratford Editorial 4th Apr, 2017   0

TALENTED cricketers are invited to play on a square described by former England international Phillip DeFreitas as the best club wicket he has ever played on.

Reigning Cotswold Hills League Premier Division champions Wellesbourne are looking to strengthen their squad with new signings before the start of the 2017 season at Loxley Road.

Club chairman Phil Rothwell said: “The first team lost several players during the winter because of moves from the area and job commitments at weekends.

“We need to replace them with new blood, experienced cricketers who may welcome the chance to play regularly or just want to up their game.

“The club has a proud history and is rated one of the best grounds in the district thanks to its exceptional square.

“We have a second team playing in Cotswold Hills League Division Two and also have friendlies on Sundays.

“We welcome new players of all ages. As a friendly and family-orientated club, there is always a good day’s cricket to be had by players and supporters alike.”
