Zumba flash mob with a difference inspires crowds in Stratford square

A ZUMBA flash mob inspired crowds in Stratford’s Bell Court to keep on grooving.

Some 40 women, most aged 60 years and over, took to the shopping centre square in a mass move-busting boogie.

The crew were from the Zumba Gold class run by PixieFit which aims to keep people fit and healthy in later years.

Teacher Miranda Maloney said: “The majority of the people taking part are 60 years and over. The ladies are a prime example of staying active, staying sociable and having fun.

“I was astounded and so proud and pleased that these ladies and their families were giving their time for me, and to show the people of Stratford just how much fun Zumba Gold is.

“We danced for just over six minutes and we had members of the public joining in, which was just fantastic – exactly what I had hoped would happen. The smiles and laughter, the singing and cheering from everyone there was totally wonderful.”

Until last year Miranda worked as a barber before deciding to follow her dreams of working in the fitness industry.
