Youngsters to spread Christmas cheer to Romanian children

GENEROUS youngsters are spreading Christmas cheer by filling shoeboxes with gifts for Romanian children.

Pupils from Bridgetown Primary School filled some 80 shoeboxes which will now be sent to disadvantaged families.

Couple Anne and Malcolm McCulloch are collecting the boxes from groups, schools and individuals across the district to send to Romania, something they do on an annual basis.

Malcolm said: “This is the fourth year we have been involved and it has been great to see the support we receive in the Stratford area grow over this period.

“To us in the UK the gifts in the shoeboxes are our everyday items but to these Romanian families living in very basic conditions they are a reminder that someone cares enough to give them the only gift they will receive this Christmas.”

The couple will be collecting shoeboxes until Wednesday November 15. Email [email protected] or call 01789 294908 to find out more.
