Youngsters celebrate national Play Day in Stratford

BUDDING circus performers were given a leg-up by experts in Stratford this week.

Ruby Clark practiced her stilt-walking skills with entertainer Mr Kaos who was on hand to teach youngsters the tricks of the trade at the annual Play Day at the recreation ground.

Others expended their pent up holiday energy in every way imaginable – from bouncing and skipping to scaling a giant climbing wall, while they were also able to take it a little easier with a range of craft activities on offer.

Others enjoyed a temporary transformation at the face painting stall, with flocks of beautiful butterflies adding some sparkle to the mix.

The event, organised by Stratford District Council, was among a number which took place across the UK to celebrate national Play Day – which began more than 30 years ago to highlight the importance of play in children’s lives.
