Woman treated for serious abdominal injuries as car and van involved in A46 crash

A WOMAN is being treated for serious abdominal injuries following a crash between a van and a car on the A46 in Drayton this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service were called at 12.30pm and sent two ambulances and a paramedic area support officer to the scene.

Upon arrival, crews found a car and van which had both suffered front end damage in the crash.

The passenger in the van, a woman believed to be in her 40s, was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.

The driver of the van, a man also thought to be in his 40s, was treated for arm, neck and shoulder pain and taken to the same hospital.

A woman in her 40s driving the car was uninjured.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesman said: “The passenger in the van was immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to hospital on alert.

“The car driver was treated for the effects of shock and discharged at the scene.”
