A WOMAN has died after crashing into a tree on the Fosse Way.

Emergency services – including the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance – were called to the scene near Moreton Morrell on Sunday morning (June 19).

It is understood the woman hit a deer before crashing into a nearby tree.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The driver was found to have suffered extremely serious injuries.

“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.”

A young boy, who was also travelling in the car, was taken to University Hospital in Coventry for further assessment.
