WATCH: Police issue CCTV images of pair after arson attack

POLICE have released CCTV footage of two people they want to talk to following an arson attack at Stratford train station.

A storage shed at the Alcester Road station was set alight around midnight on January 21 and caused some £5,000 of damage.

The security footage shows a man unraveling a roll of blue tissue paper near where the fire began. The pair then leave the station as smoke engulfs the platform.

British Transport Police’s PC John Hughes said: “The man and woman captured on CCTV were at the station when the fire started, so it is important we establish who they are and what they were doing there.

“This isn’t a victim-less crime: it caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to London Midland property, which in turn is passed onto rail users.”

Anyone who recognises the pair or has any information about the incident should call police on 101, quoting incident 341 of January 21 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
