Warwickshire residents invited to have a green Christmas with free webinar

Stratford Editorial 15th Nov, 2021   0

A SUSTAINABLE Christmas is the topic of a free webinar for Stratford and Warwick district residents.

Warwick and Stratford District Councils are inviting residents to join the online event on Wednesday November 17, with Jen Gale – author of ‘The Sustainable(ish) Living Guide’ and ‘The Sustainable(ish) Guide to Parenting’.

Jen will be providing tips and ideas to reduce waste and carbon footprints during the festive season, as part of the first in a series of ‘Carbon Connected’ webinars.

Sustainable(ish) is all about taking small steps that can make a big difference – small changes or tweaks which are manageable in daily life while being good for the planet.

Climate change spokesman for Warwick District Council Alan Rhead said: “With COP26 currently taking place, it has reinforced the need for us all to play our part in reducing our carbon impact.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for residents across South Warwickshire to get some top tips on reducing waste this Christmas.

“Jen is a renowned speaker and author on the subject who has done many talks across the country, so we’re very lucky to have her with us sharing her expertise.”

Coun Ian Shenton FOR Stratford District Council added: “From reducing food waste to avoiding unnecessary disposable items, there’s something we can all do at this time of year to reduce our impact on the planet. I’m sure there will be something for everyone to take away from this talk.”

The hour-long webinar takes place at 1pm on Microsoft Teams and can be accessed via a link available at www.warwickdc.gov.uk/carbonconnected.
