VOTERS are being urged to make sure they are signed up to the electoral register.
The Stratford District Council elections take place on Thursday May 7 coinciding with the General Election and town and parish elections, with voting taking place from 7am until 10pm.
To be able to vote at the elections residents must either be on the electoral register or have applied to be so by Monday April 20. Residents should call Stratford District Council’s Elections Office on 01789 260208 to check they are on the electoral register at their current address.
Postal votes are available to any district resident but are especially useful for those that are unable to get to a polling station on polling day, due to health reasons or maybe on holiday or working away.
All completed applications forms for postal votes must be submitted before 5pm on Tuesday April 21.
Residents must be on the electoral register to apply.
Following a Local Government Boundary review last year, the district council is moving to all-out elections with councillors being reduced from 53 to 36 in single member wards and elected for four years.
