Volunteers to go back in time at trust property

VOLUNTEERS are being offered the chance to step back in time at Charlecote Park.

The historic National Trust property near Wellesbourne is keen to recruit people in a variety of roles including costumed interpretation, house conservation, and caring for the park and gardens.

Joan Wheal, a current volunteer at Charlecote, said: “I love history, stately homes, great scenery and meeting the public, so it seemed obvious to volunteer for the National Trust.

“The added bonus is that I have also gained an amazing group of like-minded friends. It has enhanced my life so much.”

The property is hosting Volunteer Open Days in March for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

The open days take place at Charlecote Park on Saturday March 2 and Wednesday March 6, between 10.30am and 3pm.
