VILLAGERS in Bidford and Salford Priors are set to get a greater say on future planning matters.
Stratford District Council has agreed both Neighbourhood Development Plans for both villages.
Plans have already been adopted in Kineton and Long Compton following votes by villagers.
Neighbourhood plans are a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods. The plan will cover everything from green spaces and sustainable transport, to housing and leisure facilities.
Coun Chris Saint, leader of Stratford District Council said: “Neighbourhood Plans reflect the desire of local communities to influence their development.
“I welcome the opportunities being provided to local villages to influence development in their parishes.”
Plans are also progressing in both Napton, and in Tredington and Fulready.
