Treats are the way to foodie Gypsy's heart

POOCHES at Dogs Trust Kenilworth have got their paws crossed 2022 will mean, not only a new start, but a new home too.

Staff at Dogs Trust Kenilworth – who have around 120 dogs in their care – are calling on dog lovers who want to welcome a furry friend into their life in 2022, to consider adopting a rescue dog.

Following our previous four-legged festive campaigns – which have seen dogs rehomed as a result – the Observer is once again showcasing potential canine companions in the hopes readers, with a paw-shaped hole in their heart, might consider taking one home.

Siberian Husky, Gypsy, is six and arrived at the rehoming centre in spring, so the team are really hoping it won’t be too much longer before she finds her forever home. Gypsy is looking for an adult only home with minimal visitors as she is wary of strangers. Although she loves heading out on walks, she doesn’t like to bump into other dogs so she will need to be walked in quiet areas so she can truly relax and enjoy herself. She loves her food and chasing toys so this will help her new owners build a bond with her. She will need a secure garden to relax in with no neighbouring dogs and as she is a big girl the fencing will need to be at least six feet. The team are confident that with patient owners that are happy to help her overcome her anxieties, Gypsy will make a lovely, loyal canine companion.
