This year's Art in the Park in Leamington the busiest ever

RECORD numbers flocked to Art in the Park in Leamington at the weekend.

The annual festival – the largest outdoor art gathering in Warwickshire – took place across two spaces in the town, Jephson Gardens and Mill Garden, on both Saturday (August 13) and Sunday (August 14).

And organisers said it was the busiest and most successful Art in the Park in its nine year history.

Visitors were given the chance to take part in a range of art, theatre, dance, crafts, music and workshops, and all for free.

There was high quality art from a community of hundreds of local artists to view and buy in the festival’s famous art marketplace, as well as walkabout theatre, interactive sensory projects, group painting, live music, family activities, community-made installations and schools workshops.

There were also a host of local culinary offerings across pop-up food and drink stalls.

While the whole of this year’s festival had a focus on environmental change.

Improved recycling, public transport promotion and traders being asked to reduce their use of single plastics in preparation for a complete ban at the event in 2023, were just some of the initiatives being concentrated on to build a more sustainable outdoor event.
