THE CREATOR of a dating app is hoping to find love on his own site – which could make him a billionaire.
Former Stratford College Jack Knowles recently celebrated the first birthday of his app Temptr with a party at an exclusive London club which was attended by celebrities, including ex-footballer Rio Ferdinand.
The 27 year-old studied business at Stratford College before launching a number of dating websites. With 30 per cent of people meeting online or through an app he decided to create Temptr.
Although Jack’s app has stiff competition from market leaders such as Bumble, Tinder, Badoo and Her, Temptr is the leading UK founded dating app, and could soon be worth over £1.2billion, although he has no plans to sell up any time soon.
Jack said what set Temptr apart from the rest is the fact matches can also exchange pictures with one another and even ‘check-in’ wherever they are in the world – anywhere from nightclubs to gymnasiums.
Although Jack travels a lot with work, he always enjoys returning to Stratford.
He said: “Stratford is a great town and because it is central location, it makes it very easy to reach people – everywhere is accessible.
“I am always around Stratford when I can. It’s nice to come back to normality and family.
“Version three of the app launched at the beginning of this year and is the biggest update yet.
“The app has been quoted as ‘set to be worth over £1.2 billion’ but all I’m thinking about with Temptr at the moment is connecting all single people in every country in the world.
“Whether is simply swiping through, connecting at a check-in, or use of the walk-by feature. Temptr has already had great offers and will be sold in the future, but I want to take it to being the number one used app of its kind before then.”
But being so busy Jack has yet to find that special lady, so is signed up on Temptr.
