Stratford to be cast in new light

Stratford Editorial 22nd Apr, 2017   0

ALL things neon will light up Stratford’s town centre to raise money for The Shakespeare Hospice.

The Shottery-based hospice is calling for supporters to sign up to their Let it Glow fund-raising walk on Saturday May 13.

Hundreds of people are expected to take on a 5km or 10km route around the town, from 8.30pm, with a brief stop at the hospice to grab goodies including popcorn and candy floss.

Fundraiser Jo Reeves said: “This year will be a little different the adult walker who raises the most sponsorship will be awarded a pamper session for two at Regal Hair & Beauty in Stratford.

“We’re not leaving children out either, the child who raises the most sponsorship will be awarded a family ticket to the Butterfly Farm.”

The hospice is asking all walkers to raise a minimum of £30 each in sponsorship. This figure could fund bereavement workbooks for three children who have lost a family member or could fund lunch for six patients.

Let It Glow is open to all ages and walking abilities and dogs are welcome.
