Stratford Lib Dem parliamentary candidate launches her campaign

THE LIBERAL Democrat parliamentary candidate for Stratford has officially launched her campaign.

Speaking in front of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, MP hopeful Manuela Perteghella insisted local people had been badly let down by the Conservatives.

She said: “The NHS is in crisis, the cost of living is rocketing and our rivers are filled with sewage. Enough is enough.

“Every day that I’m out locally knocking on doors and talking to people, I’m more and more convinced that change is going to happen in Stratford. Local people are tired of being taken for granted.

“I love living in south Warwickshire and I’ve always believed in making a difference. I promise that I will remain grounded in our community and will give this great constituency the strong voice it so very much deserves.

“We desperately need a local champion to stand up for us at Westminster. That’s why I’m standing to be Stratford’s next MP at this year’s General Election.”

Ms Perteghella highlighted last year’s district council elections which gave a victory to the Liberal Democrats – winning 25 of the 41 seats available.

She added: “Last year, we proved that the Conservatives can be beaten in our area when the Liberal Democrats won overall control of Stratford District Council for the first time ever. Labour and Greens have no chance of winning in Stratford, so it will be a two-horse race between myself and the Conservatives.”
