STRATFORD Leisure Centre is among the best – and that’s official.

The Bridgefoot centre, which underwent a £5million refurbishment last year, achieved an ‘excellent’ rating in an assessment by Sport England’s national quality scheme, Quest.

Said to be one of the best-known improvement programmes within the leisure industry, it involves three assessments and two mystery visits being carried out over a two year period.

The district council-owned leisure centre, which is managed by Everyone Active, scored particularly highly in the ‘Team & Skill Development’ and ‘Maintenance & Equipment’ categories.

General manager, Gareth Wagg, said: “We are very proud to be recognised as an excellent centre. This is a fantastic achievement and a real team effort.

“Quest is much more than a tick-box exercise – it is an ongoing programme to improve our facility for both staff and customers, and a great way to demonstrate our achievements.”
