Stratford hotel staff take the plunge for charity

Stratford Editorial 7th Dec, 2017   0

HOTEL staff in Stratford took the plunge for a children’s charity in a 24-hour swimathon.

Over 30 staff at QHotels all took turns to take on the challenge at the Stratford Manor Health Club in aid of the NSPCC.

Staff each swam in 30 minute slots and covered a total distance of 42 miles. They raised £335 for the charity which they have supported throughout the year.

Sales director Stephanie Taylor said: “We wanted to raise money and awareness of the NSPCC and thought what better way than with an activity that all staff across the hotel can be involved in.”

Thanks to donations, the NSPCC is able to provide 24-hour counselling to children through its Childline service.

And, as part of its ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ service, the charity also teaches primary schoolchildren how to recognise abuse and keep themselves safe through volunteer-led workshops and assemblies in schools.
