FANS of Only Fools and Horses will have enjoyed the Sport Relief special which saw David Beckham join Del Boy and Rodney on Peckham Market.

And Stratford-based events company Sketts played its own small part in the little piece of television history by supplying the market stalls used in the short sketch in which Beckham was seen to re-create one of the most famous scenes from the comedy classic – when Del fell through an open bar.

With the show’s last special airing in 2003, Sketts was delighted to help the return of the dodgy-dealing Trotter brothers played by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Sketts’ Jayne McKay, said: “It was an honour to help with the props of this loved TV show and for such a great cause.

“It was difficult to keep the secret of the surprise appearance of David Beckham. As Del Boy would say, ‘lovely jubbly.'”

The Only Fools and Horses Sport Relief Special can still be viewed on BBC iPlayer.

The episode was filmed at the BBC’s Wimbledon Studios in early January using market stalls supplied by Stratford-based Sketts. (s)
