Stratford district residents invited to participate in climate change panel

Stratford Editorial 27th Mar, 2022   0

RESIDENTS in the district are invited to participate in a climate change panel this spring.

The event takes place on Tuesday May 3 at 4pm at Stratford District Council’s Elizabeth House HQ in Church Street. All residents are welcome to attend or to watch the live-stream online.

Members of the public are asked to submit either a written submission or a video of their question or statement to [email protected] two weeks prior to the meeting.

Submissions will be selected by the chairman, with priority given to individuals or groups who have not been selected in the previous six months.

The deadline for submitting questions for the meeting is April 19.

SDC climate change spokesman Ian Shenton said: “Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing the world today and here in Stratford district we want to play our part.

“We know this is something that our residents are very passionate about and it’s good to hear from individuals, local community groups and businesses – really anyone who has a passion for the environment. It’s important to hear their views and that people feel involved at the beginning of any decision making process.

“There are lots of things we can do as individuals, any small changes you can make really do help, but by working together we can make a real and lasting difference.”
