A STRATFORD couple would like to thank everyone who supported their annual shoebox appeal.
Malcolm and Anne McCulloch worked alongside charity the AMEN Trust for the ninth year to collect shoeboxes to be sent out to Romania.
And they were inundated with boxes, despite so many people feeling the pinch themselves this year due to the cost of living crisis.
The husband and wife partnership – who are members of Stratford baptist church – called on residents to prepare a shoebox filled with everyday items for Romanian families living in very basic conditions in time for Christmas.
They received a total of 420 shoeboxes which were sent out to Romania on Friday (November 11).
The contents of the boxes are everyday items to us, but, as Malcolm and Anne explained, mean so much more to the Romanian families as it could be the only gift they receive this Christmas.
Items included everything from games and toys, to toothbrushes, woolly hats and jewellery.
