Staff collections help Stratford foodbank users

GENEROUS staff at Listers have again been helping stock the shelves at Stratford Foodbank.

For the fifth festive year running Listers Group set up food collection points at four of its car dealerships in Western Road and at its head office.

Such donations are vital as demand continues to grow. Since set up in 2013, the number of emergency food parcels distributed by Stratford Foodbank has more than doubled. Over 1,000 parcels were provided in its first year but the figure has now risen to nearly 2,300.

Lesley Franklin, founder and co-ordinator of the collections at Listers, said, “I am very happy to give my time to this worthy cause and I’m so proud that it’s been a great success.

“Listers have supported me from day one and it’s grown tremendously over the last couple of years. Listers as a company like to get involved with our local community and we do a couple of charity events during the year, as well as helping the foodbank at Christmas.”

Stratford Foodbank thanked Lesley and Listers Group for their efforts.

“In total they have provided the equivalent of £1,508 worth of food, which is a fantastic amount and makes such a difference. We could not do what we do without the support of people like you.”
