A SHEEP had to be pulled from the River Avon by firefighters after becoming stuck.

The animal was found off Grange Road in Bidford at around 4pm on Tuesday (July 16).

Firefighters said she had been trapped for ‘some time’ and was very tired by the time they saved her using a snare and a reach and rescue pole.

A spokesman said: “Once out, the sheep was checked over before being reunited with her lambs. We love a happy ending.”
