Shared love of film and music to help those with mental health problems

FILM and music will be the topic of conversation at support sessions for vulnerable people.

ChangeX is a new project in Stratford where people with mental health problems can meet to exchange CDs and DVDs while also talking and getting help with their issues.

Group founder Trevor Preston says he developed the idea after realising many people do not know about the support and agencies available to them.

He said: “It’s an easy way to start a conversation with someone when you talk about films and music. So when people are buying or exchanging you can get to know them a little better in a friendly atmosphere.

“Then they can hear about the support on offer, find a buddy if they want one or get help with problems that have been bothering them.”

The project has been funded by Stratford Town Trust and backed by Warwickshire County Council.

Sessions are held from 10am every Tuesday at Foundation House on Masons Road.
