Have a say about the future of Wootton Wawen

Stratford Editorial 10th Oct, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

PEOPLE in Wootton Wawen are being given the chance to have a say in how their village develops over the coming years.

Wootton Wawen Parish Council has submitted an application for the designation of a ‘neighbourhood area’ – the first step in securing its own Neighbourhood Plan.

Neighbourhood planning is a key component of the Government’s Localism Act, which aims to devolve greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods.

And Stratford District Council is now inviting people to comment on the proposals before it decides on the application.

If the application is agreed, residents, businesses and councillors will be encouraged to get involved creating the plan, which sets out how they would like the area to develop.

A copy of the application and a map can be viewed at www.stratford.gov.uk/nplan or at the council offices in Stratford, during office hours, or at Stratford Library.

The deadline for comments is 5pm on Friday 18 November.
