RSC's Scrooge offers festive advice to one young theatre-goer

SCROOGE had some festive advice for one particular teenager who attended a performance of A Christmas Carol at the RSC in Stratford.

Veteran comedian and actor Adrian Edmondson is currently treading the boards as the curmudgeonly ‘bah humbug’ character in the sell-out adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas tale.

But Mr Edmondson was less than impressed by one young audience member who he very much hopes not to see again.

Following a recent matinee performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the actor tweeted:

“Dear bored teenager on his iPad during the matinee today. Next time the school asks if you want to go to the theatre please say no, or pretend to be ill on the day. You don’t want to be there, and we don’t want you to be there either. It’s a win/win situation!”
