Residents encouraged to 'recycle right'

Stratford Editorial 3rd Jan, 2019   0

STRATFORD District Council is encouraging residents to recycle ‘right’ after the festive season.

Householders are reminded plastic packaging such as microwave trays, yoghurt pots and fruit punnets can go in blue lidded bins along with clean foil and sweet or biscuit tins.

Unwanted presents could be donated to charity, swapped with relatives and friends or sold or given away via internet sites.

Community services spokesman Coun Mike Brain said: “Christmas is a wonderful time of year but can create extra recycling.

“Please make a new year’s resolution to recycle as much as possible – it’s good for the environment, the future and also saves money.”

Visit www.stratford.gov.uk/waste-recycling for more details on kerbside recycling and visit www.recyclenow.com/local-recycling for how to recycle specific items in the local area.
