AXE and hammer wielding burglars fought a householder who challenged them after breaking into his Wixford home.
The resident was woken up and challenged the four men shortly before 4am on Thursday (January 31).
The victim received several injuries – thought to be minor – and he needed hospital treatment.
The burglars escaped in a black Audi S3 belonging to the household.
