Quad bike riding nightmare for villagers

Stratford Editorial 2nd Aug, 2018   0

QUAD bike riders are proving a nightmare for villagers in Studley.

Police are hunting two riders who have been racing round the village late at night.

The latest incident was reported in the Alcester Road around 11.30pm on Friday night, but the anti-social pair have also been seen – and heard – roaring around St Judes Avenue and across grassland opposite The Railway pub on previous evenings.

Police say numerous callers have reported the bikes – which are not using headlights after dark and do not have registration plates – tearing through the village at speed on roads and footpaths.

One of the riders was seen wearing a black balaclava and riding the bike down the centre of Green Lane.

It is believed the bikes come from the Sambourne area.

A police spokesperson said enquiries were ongoing.

He added: “If anyone has further information not already passed to police – with regards the names and addresses of the riders and owners of the quad bikes – this can be sent to the team on email address [email protected] .

“CCTV of the quad bikes would also be very useful.”

“As always, please call 101 to report as soon as possible if the bikes are seen causing a nuisance.”
