Police renew appeal after theft of ATM in Wellesbourne

Stratford Editorial 4th Jan, 2019   0

POLICE are renewing an appeal for information after the theft of an ATM in Wellesbourne.

Two men were arrested after a cash machine was stolen from the Co-Op in Loxley Close at around 2am on December 22.

CCTV revealed the machine was stolen from the store using a digger and loaded onto a flat bed-type vehicle.

After searching the area, the ATM was found and a 22-year-old from West Bromwich and a 34-year-old from Walsall were arrested. They have been bailed until later this month.

Officers believe a third person may have been involved in the burglary and are asking for potential witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously to get in touch. Police say a taxi could also have been summoned from Stratford, Leamington or Banbury.

They are also seeking dashcam footage and information about a digger as it was moved between the evening of December 21 to 3am on December 22 from the Chesterton area to Wellesbourne.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or ring 0800 555 111 to speak to Crimestoppers anonymously.
