Police helicopter and dogs called to burglary

POLICE used a stinger to pop the wheels of a car before arresting the driver for burglary.

At around 5pm on Sunday (September 17) police were called to Cherington, near Shipston, where a villagers reported seeing a suspicious man.

A police dog ran to a Ford Focus which then took off through Shipston and Wellesbourne while being chased by the police helicopter and cars.

The car was stopped in Barford when an officer used a stinger to deflate all four tyres.




A home in Cherington was later found to have been subject to a burglary.

A 33 year-old man from Nottingham has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving while under the influence of cannabis.


He remains in custody at Leamington Spa.
