POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Stratford’s Albany Road.

At around 4.40pm on Tuesday (July 5), a man was approached by another man who demanded his watch.

The victim managed to escape but received a minor injury to his leg.

The offender is described as a white man in his late teens or early twenties, 6ft tall, possibly with dark hair and ‘fluffy’ facial hair.

He was wearing a dark grey hooded top and dark jeans.

Warwickshire Police are now looking to speak to anyone who has any information or witnessed the incident.

Det Sgt Iain Shearer said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anybody who saw a man matching the description of the offender.

“It is thought that the man may have been in the general area from around 3.30pm yesterday before leaving in the direction of Shottery after the incident.

“Officers have been patrolling the area and conducting house to house enquiries and I would like to reassure the local community that this appears to be an isolated incident.”
