Poetry in motion at The Willows

Stratford Editorial 19th Feb, 2015 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

DRESSING up boxes were raided and imaginations ran wild as pupils from The Willows celebrated Poetry Week.

Visiting poets Pauline Stewart and Kurly McGeachie kicked off the week’s verse by running a series of workshops in which they inspired pupils to write their own poetry.

Each class then spent time reading, performing, and listening to poems before a special celebration assembly was held to round off the week or words.

The event, which was part-sponsored by Stratford Poetry Festival, also saw youngsters dress up for the day as characters from their favourite poetry books and featured performances of poems including The Spider and The Fly.
