WHITE-knuckle rides, candyfloss and all the fun of the fair descended on Stratford.
The annual Mop Fair transformed the town centre into a thrill-seeker’s paradise.
Rides, including the 127-year-old Golden Carousel, as well as some more up-to-date offerings, whirred into action on Wednesday (October 11)
And the official opening ceremony was performed by Stratford mayor Coun Kate Rolfe on Thursday (October 12).
Other attractions included the traditional pig roast, provided by local Scouts at the end of Waterside, along with the charity auction of the first slice.
And the mop proved an unlikely location for a 55th anniversary celebration.
Jeff and Mary Yardley proved they were still giddy about each other when they took themselves for a spin on the waltzer to celebrate the landmark occasion.
For those dare-devils after another fairground fix – the runaway mop comes to the town on Friday October 20 and Saturday October 21.
