ORGANISERS of Stratford Regatta are hoping to restage the event later in the year.
Stratford Boat Club was forced to call off the annual event scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) for safety reasons following the heavy rain over the past week which raised the water level in the Avon.
A spokesman said: “Stratford upon Avon Boat Club are looking at a possible re-run in September but this depends on British Rowing’s crowded regatta programme.”
The last time the club was forced to cancel its showpiece regatta was in 2007.
