AN ORB spider is the latest resident at Stratford Butterfly Farm – and visitors can get closer than usual.
The spider, which is not dangerous to humans, is not displayed behind safety glass at the farm like the rest of its eight-legged colleagues. She can instead be found in a large hoop hanging from the ceiling, where she has built her impressive web.
But farm bosses say the spider – which can commonly be found in gardens and fields across Britain – will not leave her hoop and is kept behind a protective barrier.
