Olympian Nick Skelton seeks permission to build indoor riding stable

Laura Kearns 16th Sep, 2018

OLYMPIC gold medal-winner Nick Skelton is staying in the saddle.

The 60-year-old, who bowed out from the sport last year after a long and glittering career, has submitted a planning application to Stratford District Council for permission to build an indoor training centre at his Ardencote Farm home near Alcester.

He already has an outdoor riding area and stables at the farm but wants somewhere to practice if the weather is bad.

If given the green light it would be built just next door to his son Dan Skelton’s riding school.
