Nursery plans given the green light - The Stratford Observer

Nursery plans given the green light

PLANS for a nursery in Shipston have been given the green light by councillors.

The nursery is planned for Pittway Avenue put up in place of the disused tennis courts which currently serve as an overflow car park.

Eight staff will be recruited and it will operate between 8am to 6pm.

Ward councillor Jo Barker welcomed the decision saying there was a need for a nursery due to demand.

But Stratford Town Council objected to the plans after raising concerns the site was not secure, plans did not refer to government guidelines and busy traffic around the site posed a safety risk.

But officers concluded the matters did not override planning consent and Ofsted inspectors would closely monitor the nursery and ensure all safety needs were being met.
