Nightly experience aims to dazzle visitors to Compton Verney

A NEW visitor experience set in the grounds of Warwickshire’s Compton Verney is set to light up the dark winter nights.

The landscaped park and woodland of the historic gallery will be transformed by a series of night-time light installations – creating a magical, illuminated trail under the stars.

Spectacle of Light invites guests to walk through the changing Light Curve, immerse themselves in the Carpet of Colour on the main lawn and gaze at the sparkling light beams across the lake.

The trail runs from the welcome centre, through the woodland, along the lake, and over the bridge to the house, and back again.

As well as music playing to each spectacle, other treats for the senses are in store along the way. Guests can sip mulled wine or hot chocolate as they wander along, before pausing by the house to tuck int hot food and mouth-watering treats.

To maximise visitor safety and enjoyment, a staggered entry system has been created, to create 15-minutes distance between each group of visitors.

Entry begins at 5.30pm, with the last trail tour at 7.45pm.

Gallery CEO Julie Finch said: “Compton Verney is the perfect, safe place to meet with family and friends in the fresh air and our new Spectacle of Light is another fantastic, and new, reason for people to come and visit.

“We can’t wait to welcome more people to our grounds to enjoy art and creativity in the great outdoors.”
