SOUTH Warwickshire’s major tourism organisation has made an appointment to help spread the word on the region across the globe.

Darren Tosh has joined Shakespeare’s England – which promotes tourism to South Warwickshire and the surrounding area – as digital marketing manager.

The Leamington resident will be responsible for a range of on-line campaigns and the organisation’s website.

Darren spent almost four years at Warwick Castle before joining locally-headquartered photo gift company CEWE.

While at Warwick Castle, he helped launch the Knight’s Village and worked on the creation of the castle’s new website.

He said: “With restrictions lifting and travel beginning to pick up, this is a really exciting time for Shakespeare’s England which plays a vital role in attracting people – both domestic and international travellers – to visit our area.

“We have so many fantastic attractions and leisure businesses and the sector plays a key role in our overall economy, so bringing people to Warwickshire is of vital importance for our region and I am looking forward to playing a part in that.”

CEO Helen Peters said: “Darren is a valuable addition to our small team and having an effective digital presence in terms of our campaigns and our own communication, is of vital importance.

“As the world opens up once more, all destinations will be vying to attract custom and we have to be at the forefront of that push. Having an effective digital marketing operation is key to that.”
