THE EAGLE has landed.
Bosses at Warwick Castle appealed for help when Henry the ‘teen’ Bald Eagle failed to return having taken to the skies after the 3.30pm Flight of the Eagles display on Saturday (August 6).
But after a few days’ absence, he returned safely on Friday morning (August 12).
His flight to freedom follows that of Stan the White-tailed Eagle who flew off in 2012 never to be seen again.
It is not apparently uncommon for young birds of prey like Henry to spread their wings and head off on their own for a few days.
A castle spokesperson said: “We’re delighted our young eagle, Henry, returned to the Castle this morning during our 11.30am birds of prey display.
“He’s safe and sound, and has been reunited with his mum, Sydney and his expert handlers.
“We’re very happy to have Henry home. Our thanks go to all those who helped look for him and reported sightings to us, and we can’t wait to see him in action again.”
