Lucky escape after microlight crash at Long Marston

TWO men had a lucky escape after their microlight had a heavy landing.

An ambulance and a paramedic were called to Long Marston Airfield around 2.15pm on Sunday after reports of a serious incident.

The pilot and his passenger, both in their 40s, were able to get out of the microlight themselves. One had suffered a wrist injury and both had minor cuts and bruising.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Initial reports were that it was a much more serious incident than it thankfully turned out to be.

“After assessment, they were both discharged.”
