Hospice staff take the plunge for charity

Stratford Editorial 30th Sep, 2016 Updated: 28th Oct, 2016   0

FUND-RAISING staff at the Shakespeare Hospice have put down their pens and pulled on a jumpsuit to take part in a sponsored team skydive.

The team are usually busy organising events to raise money for the hospice.

But they took time off planning to take the plunge for the charity.

Manager Jo Reeves said: :“Working in the hospice every day we are all truly passionate about the care and services that our wonderful staff offer to patients and their families.

“Last year we are proud to say the hospice cared for 900 people in need within our area. We are often behind the organisation of events asking people to take part so it only seemed fair that we put ourselves forward for the challenge.”

The Shottery-based hospice provides care for those affected by a life-limiting illness and receives only seven per cent of its funding from government.
