Homemade calendar raises funds for Myton

A HANDMADE heritage calendar has provided much-needed support to The Myton Hospices.

During the pandemic, Harbury Heritage Group chairman Bill Timson, was inspired to produce a calendar to sell over the Christmas period – raising £500 for the hospice charity which funds free care at hospices in Warwick, Rugby and Coventry, as well as a ‘Hospice at Home’ service.

This year, with the help of Harbury artists who created pictures of local scenes, the group has produced a second calendar – raising £750.

Mr Timson said: “We have had fantastic support from local artists and the people of Harbury and surrounding areas enabling us to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause.

“David Turner, vice chairman, designed the calendar and it was sold via the Harbury and Ladbroke News magazine, in the village library as well as at the local Open Market and various craft fairs leading up to Christmas.

“Calendars have been sent as far away Australia, USA and Italy for Christmas presents to relatives – we are delighted with the outcome.”
