Grosvenor Hotel in Stratford to close

Stratford Editorial 4th Dec, 2019 Updated: 4th Dec, 2019   0

THE GROSVENOR Hotel in Stratford is closing its doors.

The hotel, which is part of the Best Western chain, announced this morning (Wednesday) it would be closing from Thursday January 2 2020.

A statement on its Facebook page read: “We are sorry to say we are closing. The current team would like to thank you all for your support and feedback over the years.

“Over the next few days the team will be contacting all guests regarding bookings and events.”

More than 100 people took to social media to voice their upset about the loss of the hotel in the grade II listed building on Warwick Road.

Many had married or enjoyed afternoon tea there.

One said: “No way, what a shame. We got married here a few years ago, fantastic place, great staff, I will be forever grateful for how special they made our day.”

Another commented: “That’s a shame, beautiful building, part of Stratford’s heritage and where we were married in 2014.”

The Observer is awaiting comment from Best Western about why the hotel is closing.
